 The set of Arabian Nights!

Flowers from Michael after opening night.

I have been drinking so much diet coke. $1 any size you want.

Used a serger for the first time this week.

Look at this picture of my cute husband. Our children are probably going to be cute.

And that is what is happening at the moment. Last night Arabian Nights opened and it was such a great experience. The audience was laughing and it really just pumped our performance up to the next level. I feel so blessed to be part of this process. Acting was something that I had given up, but no more!

Arabian Nights Teaser

Here is the teaser for the play that I am in. Some pretty sweet special effects if I do say so myself. You can get tickets here if you so desire. Also the play opens tonight! Can't wait to have a real audience. Performing is so much more gratifying when you have people to share it with. And now I will get off my theater soap box. Much love!

Dress: H&M, Necklace: Banana Republic, Shoes: Kenneth Cole via Ross

This weekend Michael and I went on a little bit of a shopping spree. (We are so terrible at saving... oops! You only live once right?) We ended up at Target on our date night for lack of better ideas and wandered through the store throwing everything that we wanted in the cart. Michael ended up with a light saber and some DVDs. I ended up with a Nerf gun and some new housey stuff. Being an adult is basically awesome. Did I mention that my Nerf gun is automatic? Toys are so much cooler now than when I was a kid.

Only a couple more weekends before I leave for the magical city of Chicago. I am getting super excited. I have alway pictured myself as a city girl. It will be hard to leave Michael. Good thing he is planning on visiting me. He served his mission in Chicago so it is kind of his old stomping ground. We should have some good adventures together.

Amsterdam.

If I ever went back to school I would probably do designy art stuff. The type in this video is lovely. The color and cinematography is rad. And I love the feel of the agency.

Wisdom and Love

I think some are wise in love from the very beginning.
My uncle, a practical man, told me he met my aunt when they were college freshmen. They did music theory homework together and ate lunch on picnic benches. They spent the hours of the evening and into the night discussing matters from deep in their souls.

Christmas break came, and they said said goodbye to travel to opposite sides of the country {Maine and California}, four months after meeting. They both wondered. Wondered about the future, the possibilities, the unknown. She sent him a letter, the big gesture, and a token I believe he was waiting for.

"I've been praying to God for someone I could talk to about things that really matter," she wrote. "He answered that prayer and sent me you."

Sometimes those words sneak into my own prayers. Quietly, in a small corner of my mind, I ask God to please send me someone I can talk to about things that matter. To please send someone who will care enough to care about the things I love, even if he only cares because I do.

Awkward and Awesome.

 Because it's pretty.
Awkward
Harley:
-When I got to work this morning I realize that I had little yellow spots all over my shirt. Not cute ones. Little food marks that I missed when I decided this shirt was clean and I could wear it again without washing it. Oops.
-Having to jump when I enter the bathroom at work to get the lights to turn on. Curse sensor lights and their apparent heightism.
-A boy saying, "You look good. I'd kiss you."
Jane:
-When a friendly person innocently said hi to me on the street, but by the time I checked over both shoulders to see if he was actually talking to someone behind me, the time has come and gone to say hi back.
-Spilling avocado slices on white pants.
-Getting black all over the bum of white pants from my bike seat
-Slipping on water in Target and falling to the ground
-Slipping on water two days later at work and falling on the same knee, which is now purple
-Being chatty/flirty with a boy in class {and thus sacrificing understanding what's going on}, only to get a, "Nice to meet you," when the bell rings.
Awesome
-Jane and I riding our bikes through a huge rain and wind storm.
-The cutest baby ducks you ever did see swimming behind their momma.
-Getting a freaking sweet new blog design.
-The thunder storm that is happening outside.
-Michael doing allllllllllllll the dishes.

That one time we got caught in a Hurricane.

Harley's version
The weather was beautiful so we decided to ride our bikes to zumba class. Little did we know that a thunderstorm was on its way. We come out of class and see the weather and realize that there is no other option. We must brave the storm. I zipped up my trusty green jacket and stepped out into the wind and rain. We ran to our bicycles. The wind blowing us over. The rain was pounding down. I was thankful for my glasses that acted as little windshields for my eyes. We had to ride over to Jane's apartment so that we could pick up her swimsuit for hot tubbing later. We were pedaling as fast as we could shrieking every time that the wind came up. Literally it was blowing me sideways. We saw the lighting striking and we heard the thunderclap that followed.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH," I yelled.

We pedaled faster. We made it to Jane's apartment and drove into the below ground parking garage. Normally I freak out if my bike isn't locked up, but this time I just left it there because someone would have to be insane to ride off in this weather.

We ran inside to grab the goods. I then proceeded to stuff a towel and swimsuit in my water proof jacket. It is notoriously good at keeping things dry. Jane put on a hat. We had hoped that the storm would lighten up. No such luck. We went back out and ran into the parking garage, mounted our bikes and took off.

In moments like this you have to accept that what you are doing is ridiculous and move on. The rain was falling so fast that I was soaked through in a matter of seconds. I kept yelling ridiculous things. I couldn't feel my legs. I would look over at Jane and see her little owl hat and sweater soaked all the way through. My glasses were splattered with raindrops.

We rode by the hospital in Provo and a huge gust of wind almost pushed me off the sidewalk. I was yelling the whole time.

We finally made it to my house, threw our bikes to the ground and ran inside. Both of us were soaked all the way through. And then we took pictures of it because moments like riding through a hurricane should not be forgotten.

Jane's version
As Utah is a landlocked state, we usually don't see much coastal weather, but last week was an exception. Harley and I decided to ride our cruiser bikes to zumba and by the time we got out, a hurricane was ripping through Provo. It took us a while to get to my apartment since we were riding into the wind. I grabbed my swimsuit and Har stuffed it in the front of her Peter Pan jacket -- she looked weirdly pregnant or lumpy or something, but it also brought back vivid Vienna memories. She wore the Peter Pan jacket with the hood cinched many times in those first few rainy months.

We braced ourselves and ran out into the eye of the storm screaming and laughing. We could hardly walk because the wind was pushing back so hard. Once back on our bikes, we opted for the sidewalk -- probably the safest choice, as more than once the wind blew so hard from the side that I saw Harley's bike sway out from the bottom toward the street, and it caused me to completely lose my own balance. I had to stop my bike, regain my footing and go again. Honestly I'm a little surprised neither of us got hurt. She couldn't see because her glasses were covered in raindrops, and I was practically riding with my eyes closed because the pelting rain hurt. Somehow we made it to her house, but we were soaked from head to foot. Even my tennis shoes were dripping.

What a fun adventure to have with a best friend.

when life gets crazy

{Jane to Harley}

I made this tonight for dinner. She raves and raves about it...I liked it but not as much as she did it sounds like. It sure is healthy though.

Today I have cramps, but it's okay because I got The Young Victoria on DVD in the mail, so I'll probably just curl up on my bed and watch it.

I almost died in Ripped this morning {see above comment about cramps}.

I commented on a bazillion blogs today. It was exhausting, but somehow it made me feel productive. And I found some cute ones.

I got a new calling -- relief society activities committee, so maybe we can start doing fun activities like your ward! I'll probably sign us up to teach about journals again...

I need froyo.

Let's have a planning session for the blog and for your goodbye party.

And can you brief me on the chapter we're supposed to read for tomorrow? Bah. Don't want to read.

--------------------------------------

{From Harley to Jane}

That email just made me so so so happy!

I miss not talkin to you in personnnn. I shall brief you on said chapter once I read it.

I wondered how we got three new followers today. You are so awesome.

Cramps are the worstest.

You are freaking bomb for working out in the morning. I am too lazy.

That dinner looks impressive. I want to eat some. Michael brought me zupas cause I was starving.

Yay! Let's teach about journals. I want fro yo too!!!!!!!!! So bad.

Goodbye party :( sad but exciting! Let's do it for real.

I'll text you soon!
